From personalising their own and making use of tote bags for life, recycling and even up cycling waste materials such as single-use plastic bottles and cardboard for arts and crafts activities such as bird watching binoculars, bird houses and more!

On Thursday 12 November 2020 a group of young people joined host Danni on Zoom to make their own bird feeders! Check out Owen’s fantastic bird feeder and see who came to visit him for a tasty snack!

Hint: It’s not a bird!

Bakealong Zoom session proves a real treat for young people

At today’s Freedom2Choose Zoom session hosted by Aine and supported by Tessie, Bethany and Emma C young people created a sweet treat to enjoy and share with their family.

Emma C explains the session:

“We decided to start by making our cheesecakes first ahead of the session as we weren't sure how long these would take to make.

“Áine gave great step-by-step instructions to our young people checking in every now and then to insure no one was left behind.

“The young people's favourite part by far was when the cheesecakes were made and they got to taste what was left in the bowl.

“After all the cheesecakes went in to the fridge, Áine then did some group discussions on what the young people have planned over the weekend.

“Everyone loved the session and look forward to eating their cheesecakes when they've set.”
